About Michele

I have been working in the mental health field for 30 years.  I  have been a licensed psychotherapist for 22 years after graduating with a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California.  My passion for working with people and extensive experience allows me to offer a comprehensive and integrated approach to my clients.   I apply strong clinical skills, utilize a direct compassionate style and guide people to find solution oriented goals,  obtain healing and transform.

Early in my  career I worked with the street youth of Hollywood, children and adult survivors of physical/sexual abuse, and people suffering  from severe psychiatric disorders.  I was a member of the trauma team at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles as a trauma specialist and supervisor for 14 years.  During my earlier years as a psychotherapist in private practice,  I also worked in both inpatient/outpatient psychiatric settings at several renowned hospitals in the Los Angeles Area.  I completed a fellowship in individual and couples therapy at the Department of Psychiatry at Kaiser Permanente in Hollywood.  In recent years, I  worked  as a primary therapist and as the Clinical Director at a treatment center that specializes in the LGBTQIA+ community.  During the Covid pandemic while continuing my private practice, I have provided online groups for individuals struggling with anxiety, grief/loss and isolation.

Along with a traditional psychology foundation, which includes training in psychodynamic theory, family systems and object relations, I am also experienced in utilizing attachment theory, trauma informed therapy, somatic work and depth psychology.

I am a student of various psycho-spiritual practices including Buddhism, Sacred Therapy,  Transformational Work and Meditation.  My certifications include:  Mediator through Mosten Mediation Training, Collaborative Divorce Coach and Brainspotting.  I have completed Level 2 training in EMDR.
